Inca Manco Cápac International Airport

Juliaca airport is located at 5 km from the city and 3,825 meters above sea level in the Puno Region. It’s a flight connection point between Lima, Arequipa and Cusco, and the fastest way to continue the journey by land to the city of Puno.


Since 2004, it’s classified as an international airport due to the fact that it has Customs Service, Police Station, Directorate of Health and Migration Office. Its operating schedule is from 7.00 am to 07.00 pm. It has a runway lighting system and radio equipment to help night flights in order to ensure safety air operations from 6.00 pm. This airport is also enabled to facilitate flight operations on a bad weather.


It has a paved runway that measures 4,200 meters in length and 45 in width. Due to its length, aircrafts of great fuselage can land and take off within it, since we currently receive A320 aircrafts.


It has an aerodrome beacon and a 7-floor control tower that measures 25 meters in height. Its departure hall has 102 seats distributed over an area of almost 600 m2.


The Aeropuerto Internacional Manco Cápac is the second largest airport and the one with higher flight frequency within the airport group managed by Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú joint venture. Annually, there are more than 245,000 users during the last years, 80% are first class tourists, traveling to the city of Puno. 


Its 1-floor terminal has an area of 1,865 m2 and at the main hall you can find 6 counters, airline offices that provide services in this terminal, restaurants and commercial stores.


Airlines operating at this airport are LAN Perú, STAR Perú, TACA and aerotaxis, which carry out private flights to places near Juliaca.


The Aeropuerto Internacional Manco Cápac security is provided by police officers attached to the Police Station and by security agents of a private company. Emergencies.
